FRISCO FREAKOUT 2011 LINEUP: THE IMAJINARY FRIENDS, HARDERSHIPS, JOY, DAGHA BLOOM, CARLTON MELTON, WICKED MACE, ASSEMBLE HEAD IN SUNBURST SOUND, POD BLOTZ, Z-TRANE ELECTRIC BAND, ELECTRIC SHEPHERD, OUTLAW
Ladies and Gentlemen, the FRISCO FREAKOUT is most pleased to announce that Comets on Fire titans ETHAN MILLER and NOEL HARMONSON (of Howlin Rain and Sic Alps, respectively) have banded together to form WICKED MACE -- and will debut on the afternoon of October 8 at the fourth annual FRISCO FREAKOUT PSYCHEDELIC DANCE PARTY at Thee Parkside in San Francisco.
Guitarist Miller promises "short, sweet, and intense."
San Francisco young guns OUTLAW have joined the bill as well. And they will rock.
All that in addition to the bold return of THE IMAJINARY FRIENDS (risen from the ashes of the Brian Jonestown Massacre) -- for their first gig in an estimated fifteen years.
Then, we have the dark and beautiful quartet ASSEMBLE HEAD IN SUNBURST SOUND, taking a break from work on their next record to return to the festival for their triumphant fourth appearance.
That's not to mention HARDERSHIPS, featuring the mindblowing guitar hero ISAIAH MITCHELL of the mighty Earthless.
Speaking of Earthless, the young cosmic power trio JOY, who have been working with Earthless bassist Mike Egington, join us all the way from San Diego.
The glimmering, shimmering DAGHA BLOOM venture north from the County of the Oranges, from a residency with Freakout alumni Jeffertitti's Nile.
Old-school psychedelic guitar warrior and songslinger JEFF ZITTRAIN brings his lovely, timebending, melodic shred and his Z-TRANE ELECTRIC BAND across the bay from Berzerkeley.
CARLTON MELTON, of SF and Mendocino, invoke the heavy heavy heavy of early Floyd or Physical Graffiti era Zeppelin -- girls and boys, they will oggle your boggle. And vice-versa.
ELECTRIC SHEPHERD are just off tour, and rising fast. Their record is getting great reviews -- and they were last seen blowing the flannel off the businessmen and the yellow fleeces off the touristas in Union Square.
And the talented multimedia artiste and sculptress of sound and light Suzy Poling, aka POD BLOTZ, will melt your face.
The FRISCO FREAKOUT is a benefit for CREATIVITY EXPLORED -- and we are collecting food for the SAN FRANCISCO FOOD BANK ... so if you can swing it, please bring a can of hearty food, or pasta, or rice.
Come on out! Come early! And come often!
